Coronavirus Update from Mayor Jonathan Stuchell and St. Bernard Administrative Officials

Village Administration is closely monitoring COVID-19.  In order to follow the Ohio Governor’s orders, and keep our community safe, the village has had to make changes and cancellations to various activities and facility usage.

Use of the Fitness Center, all dance studio, fitness classes, and Taekwondo are cancelled until further notice.

All swim activities have also been cancelled, including swim lessons, open swim, water aerobics, and swim team practice.  New start dates will be announced when we are given clearance.

All meetings and activities for the St. Bernard Senior Citizens Club have been suspended until further notice, including the upcoming trip to Belterra.

The Senior Shuttle will maintain normal operating hours so that patrons are able to get transportation to the grocery store or pharmacy.  The bus will be appropriately disinfected between transfers.

All hall rentals currently scheduled for March and April are cancelled.  You will be contacted and a refund will be issued.  We are also not taking any new reservations until further notice.

Mayor’s Court is tentatively cancelled until May.  Further details will be announced when available.

At this time, City Hall is open.  However, we are requesting that people only visit if necessary.  Please use the drop box outside of the main office when possible, i.e. tax returns, etc.  Also, we encourage use of email and phone calls instead of in person contact when possible.

The Tax office hours that were scheduled on Saturday, April 11th have been canceled at this time.

The administrative team for the Village of St. Bernard and the Medical Director for the St. Bernard Fire Department feel very strongly that these restrictions be adhered to for the safety of the community.  These decisions were made with one goal:  to slow down the spread of the virus to avoid overburdening the healthcare system if there were to be a sudden surge of cases.  It’s called flattening the curve so that the number of infected people will be stretched out over an extended period of time.

If you think that you have symptoms please contact your primary physician first rather than going directly to the emergency room or calling 911.  Please know that the St. Bernard Fire Department will be on standby for any emergency medical situation.

New information will be posted when available.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
