St. Bernard Recreation is offering a Lifeguard class at the St. Bernard High School indoor pool for two weeks starting on Tuesday May 15^th through the 19^th and the 22^nd through Saturday May 26^th.  Weekday hours are from 6:00 to 9:30 P.M. and weekends are 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

Cost is $175.00 for St. Bernard residents and $200.00 for non-residents.

Potential students must be able to:

1. 1.   Swim 300 yards freestyle and breaststroke.
2. 2.   Tread water for 2 minutes using legs only and keeping their hands tucked under armpits.
3. 3.   Swim 20 yards, surface dive, retrieve a ten pound weight from a depth of 7 to 10 feet, then swim back to the starting point while holding the weight with both hands firmly on their chest in no more than 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Register at Recreation or St. Bernard City Hall by April 30th.
